Louche help Just Jack turn 6
We're thrilled to be involved in Bristol based Just Jack's 6th Birthday Bash, at the wonderfully quirky and utterly unique Motion Skatepark. Put 4th Feb in your diarys, this will be mint!

Catch us hosting the cave all night long, with one of our favourite house producers out there at the minute Nicholas. The young Italian took it dowwwn at our 3rd birthday in November, and we have no doubt he'll help Just jack see in their birthday in equally excellent fashion. With support coming from Josh and Brins, and also our good pals Mike Stockell and Sam Mole this is looking like its gonna be a wild one!
Elsewhere in the venue on the night (which is looking like a sell out) you can see Maya Jane Coles, Jef K and Matt Tolfrey in the main warehouse room, and Joy Orbison and Ben UFO in the tunnel room, hosted by London's Trouble vision. Expect curious-tomfoolery,magic and wonderment all round!

The first; a joint party with our pals from Jaunt is on January 28th at Plan B in Brixton, a fabulous mid-sized club south of the river with one of the best sound-systems going in London.

Since it’s inception in 1998, Red Bull Music Academy has established itself as one of the most unique projects in music. Each year, the Academy takes over an inner city space, transforming it into a bespoke venue for musical innovation where aspiring music makers from all over the over the world are joined by pioneering legends to learn about everything from music history to technology. Previous lecturers have included Bootsy Collins, Nile Rogers, Carl Craig, Bob Moog, Steve Reich, Erykah Badu and the Mizell Brothers as well as more recent successes such as MIA, Oneohtrix Point Never, Peaches and Magnetic Man's Skream.
The Academy have all of their fingers and toes very firmly on the pulse, taking great interest in global underground music scenes, popping-up at only the most vital music festivals as well as curating their own legendary events. 2011 saw RBMA present a showcase at Barcelona’s Sonar festival, dominate Notting Hill Carnival with their annual Major Lazer throwdown and take over the London Eye for a music festival in the sky, programming the 30 pods with 30 live gigs and broadcasting to the world via redbullmusicacademyradio.com
Clearly it's a huge honour to host these events, so we've only gone and put on a huge lineup to match; with Julio Bashmore, Shonky, Midland, Braiden and Jane Fitz all on the bill.

Best of British DJ Mag Awards

Having just successfully celebrated our 4th birthday across two cities on one weekend spirits were already very high at Louche HQ, but when we found out we'd been nominated for best British night by DJ Mag we nearly fell off our chairs. It's a total honour, and we're delighted to be up for the award, amongst some amazing UK parties.
It doesn't feel like long ago since we kicked things off, with what was supposed to be a one of...f charity party for Oxfam in 2007. We've worked tirelessly ever since to bring Louche to where it is now; from securing the UK debuts of Visionquest and Iron Curtiss, to pushing Josh's car up a a snow covered hill on the A1 to make it to Louche on time; we're still as dedicated to the cause as we were on day one.
We're proud of the artists we've showcased to you, at our faithful home The Mint Club or in varying intimate London locations. Guests have included (many being Leeds debuts) Nicolas Jaar, Prosumer, Seth Troxler, Losoul, Martin Buttrich, Omar S, Margaret Dygas, Delano Smith, Art Department, Dyed Soundorom, Zip, Wolf + Lamb, Tevo Howard and many many more. Followers of our podcast series will know we're now up to our 60th episode, with mixes from Ryan Crosson, Soul Clap, Jimmy Edgar, Dinky, Lee Foss and Fred P amongst the collection so far.
So if you're a fan of our events, a subscriber to our podcasts or a reader of our website then please vote for us. It'd mean the world to us if we won.
To vote install the DJ Mag Facebook app here: and for further info visit DJ Mag:Voting closes December 5th.

Louche & mulletover
This October we are teaming up a couple of times with the highly notorious London night mulletover. We've nothing but respect for Geddes and Rob Star's party, which is now in it's eighth year. Mulletover has changed the face of partying in the capital, hosting events at varying warehouse spaces over the years.

First up on Oct 22nd we have a joint shindig at a secret warehouse space in Leeds' city centre (Location to be revealed). On deck duties we have WIth Chicago house demon Tevo Howard, mulletover and murmur records front man Geddes & Louche head honcho & resident Brinsely Kazak. Needless to say both parties are pshyched for this one.
In the game since he was seven and DJ'ing for over 25 years Tevo Howard's sound is blissfully warm and analog-y, sitting loosely between classic Chicago & Detroit sounds. His release schedule has been relentless over the past twelve months, and every record he has put out has been nothing short of amazing, unquestionably a talent for the house purists out there, just check his releases on respected labels Rush Hour, Buzzin Fly, Rebirth and his own imprints Tevo Howard Recordings & Beautiful Granville Records. His studio skills are unquestioned, and it seems that being a hot shot producer runs in his blood, probably inheriting some of his skills from his dad Rick 'Poppa' Howard, a respected producer and vocalist in his own right, who regularly records his own downtrodden vocals to appear on some of Tevo's releases. After witnessing Tevo dish out masterclasses at Fabric and Panorama Bar no less, we really can't wait to bring him to Leeds for his debut. More details about this event can be found here
Then next up we're off down to London, to host room 2 for mulletover's Halloween party at the end of the month. The party is a yearly sell out, and a major highlight of the London clubbing calendar. Steve Bug, Tobi Neuman, Guy Gerber (Live) & Geddes complete room one's line up. We host room 2, presenting wrong meeting with Andrew Weatherall & Ivan Smagghe plus Louche residents Brinsley Kazak, Josh T & Tom Frank completeing the bill.
This party always, always sells out well in advance, so if you fancy it, don't delay. We have a few limited reduced tickets priced at £12.50 for you. Enter the promo code mullet and grab your tickets here.

Below
We're delighted to be playing one of the UK's most notorious parties in August, making the short trip down to Brum to play at Below. Having recently celebrated their sixth birthday at their usual hangout the Rainbow Courtyard, Mr Adam Shelton is temporarily moving venue for this party, bringing alfesco vibes aplenty to the newly turfed Rainbow Garden. Visionquest's Tale Of Us are headlining the party, and its completely free; a perfect mid summer knees up we're sure you'll agree. For those wanting to turn it into a full on naughty weekender Derrick Carter and Jamie Jones are playing in Birningham on the Saturday night too. Well up for this one, come on Leeds peeps, come with us. Get in touch for more info x

Illusion
Illusion Recordings first EP is now out on both vinyl and digital formats, and all seems to be shaping up nicely for the Manchester based label. Their first record is out, and there are plenty more releases waiting in the wings. One of the talking points of Sonar Festival this year was the fringe party 'One Illusion', thrown by the guys at Illusion and the One Records crew. Held in the 5 star W Hotel the event sold out well in advance, and boasted a star studded lineup including The Mole, Fuckpony and Craig Richards.
The debut release, a sampler package, includes tracks from Gary Todd, Acid Mondays, DJ Ali, Death on the Balcony, Sean Thomas and Louche's Josh T. We've been caning these for months, head to Beatport or Juno to grab these essential tracks that flex between grooving house and stripped back funk. Josh's tune, 'Call me Tonight' in the words of 4clubbers.net 'blends brash Bobby Brownesque electronic percs and grooves in an edgy, energetic houser'. Nice!

Summer of Love
We are very pleased to announce an extremely exciting summer this year, at some wonderful parties both home and abroad. As well as our two Louche dates at Mint in June and July you can catch us at the following shindigs...

Meadows in the Mountains (Bulgaria)
3rd - 5th JuneFirst up we're off to Bulgaria, headlining the new boutique festival Meadows in the Mountains. Set in the rustic Rhudopoian Mountains, meadows range the landscape from the Greek border to the Black sea. Free from constrictions, the festival invites you to be part of a community that appreciates an acquired taste. We can't wait to experience what promises to be a magical weekend in the Eastern European countryside.
Check it out. The place looks beautiful in the photos below we're sure you'll agree.

We Love - Space (Ibiza)
Sun 26th JuneLater on in June we will then be cutting our teeth in Ibiza, at Space's legendary Sunday party 'We Love'. To say this is a privilege is an understatement, our first gig on the White Isle at one of the most notorious clubs in the world; we're toooo exited.
Louche are gonna take care of the Red Box all night long with the lineup for the rest of the club bound to be as always, world class.

Gottwood Festival (UK - Wales)
30th June - 3rd JulyThen as we move into June we'll be hosting an arena at North Wales festival Gottwood. Set on the Isle of Anglesea Gottwood is now in her second year, and is gaining quite the reputation as one of the UK's most promising new electronic festivals.
We'll be hosting a tent on the Sunday, and have booked Lee Foss and Midland for the day, who will be playing alongside all of our residents.

The Garden Festival (Croatia)
6th - 13th JulyOur second overseas gig this summer comes at Croatia's Garden Festival.
Louche founders Brinsley Kazak and Josh T will be playing on the beach bar on Tuesday 12th, the last day of the festival at around sunset time. The festival's lineup this year includes Larry Heard, Art Department, Robert Owens, Soul Clap, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Tensnake and Greg Wilson. Don't think we really need to say more than that, obviously this puppy is gonna be pretty sweet.

The Secret Garden Party (Cambridgeshire)
21st - 24th JulyThen it's the big one; the wonderfull, extraordinary, Secret Garden Party. Louche's second home Cambridge hosts the most fantastic festival outside Burning Man every year, and it is with great honour that we come back for our second year of playing at the party in 2011.
The festival is hugely inspired by the afore mentioned American festival Burning Man, spending almost all it's budget on incredible production and attention to detail. The party surrounds a lake, upon which is a tiny pontoon dancefloor- only reachable by boat or a short swim. Last year the floating stage was a giant blimp, this year it will be.... you'll have to wait and see.
We'll be closing it down either way, and just a few hours later the whole floating dancefloor will be ceremoniuosly set alight in a blaze of fireworks and gunpowder. Seriously

Below (UK - Birmingham)
Sunday 7th AugustLast but not least we're back in England and buzzing to play at one of the UK's most respected parties; Below. Adam Shelton and Ash 'Subb-an' Ashique's Birmingham based do has been running for 5+ years and is still going from strength to strength- so much so that people from all over the country travel on a regular basis to attend. Nice way to cap off a wicked few months of parties- and we're only at the start of August.

Check the below Below photos, looks pretty special we reckon...

We'd love as many of you to attend any of these parties, if you have any questions, or want any advice on how to attend, please get in touch with us, we'd love to hear from you; info@louchemusic.com xxx

Louche in Ibiza
This June we are playing our first gig on The White Isle, at the legendary club Space for it's long running Sunday night We Love. We'll be hosting the Red Box on June 26th, with Tom, Matt, Josh and Brins all playing, along with Burlington Project's Ryan O Gorman.

The weekly Sunday party has long been one of Ibiza's most well-loved parties, thanks to its famous terraces, up-for-it crowd, and perhaps most importantly, its bookings, which pack upwards of 20 DJs and live acts into Space on a weekly basis. This year will see regular appearances by many of the party's usual suspects: Paul Woolford, 2 Many DJs, James Zabiela and Groove Armada, plus newly tapped residents jozif and Mat Playford. Other highlights include Tensnake, Aphex Twin, Dixon and Jeff Mills.

The Lineup for the 26th when we are playing is as you'd expect, absolutely killer. The main room, Discoteca, features Caribou Live, Joris Voorn, Blondes Live and Jem Haynes. Outside the terrace sees dj performances from Simian Mobile Disco, Audiofly, Pier Bucci (Live), Smokin Jo and our pals from Leeds PBR Streetgang. We can't wait to accompany this stellar line up in the intimate Red Box which easily is one of the best rooms in the venue always guaranteeing a great atmosphere!
Check the Resident Advisor Event for full details of the party x

Anyone For A Spot Of Gardening?

We are ecstatic to have been invited back for a second year running for a showcase at the 4-day mindtrip spectacular that is the Secret Garden Party. Last year we were lucky enough to perform on the Saturday afternoon, on a sailing blimp in the middle of the lake. Truly spectacular memories, anyone who was there will know how special it was, and for those that missed out we have a short clip of Josh on the blimp dropping a naughty little Louis Armstrong edit by friend of Louche, Le Jockey...
The festival, located in Louche's semi-homeland of Cambridgeshire, just outside Huntingdon, the event employs a wicked ethos on booking underground artists, and takes a lot of its inspiration from the mighty Burning Man Festival in Nevada's Black Rock Desert, encouraging everyone attending to be creative and to have their own little influence on their surroundings. Resulting in a technicolour dreamland of endless possibilities and sublime soundscapes. As well as underground acts they've also pulled out a couple of special headliners including Leftfield, Blondie & The Bees amongst other high profile gardeners!
If this sounds up your street then click here to go to the homepage and get some more info, or hit the banner below to buy your tickets. Having been going since its inception in 2004, I can safely say some of our most magical festival experiences are all held at SGP. You really have to see this sh*t to believe it!

May 1st Bank Holiday Blowout
Spring has most definitely sprung as of today, so we thought it an apt time for a swift reminder of the Louche/System mega-collaboration which will be taking place over the first May bank holiday, here's some footage of our event last summer...
After two ultimately successful, intimate outings in the sun-kissed courtyard in 2010, Louche and System will return to Nation of Shopkeepers for their third and most extravagant bank holiday shenanigan to date. Louche and System regulars should be no stranger to our first two guests Onur Ozer and Shaun Reeves.
Ozer performed alongside Vera almost exactly a year ago for Louche and System and had no problems shaking the very walls of Mint and tapping the toes of the 700 strong audience. We highly anticipate the return of the slender Turkishman!

Reeves, part of the unstoppable force that is Visionquest, wrecked it at parties in London and Leeds for Louche in 2010 and it is with great pleasure that we welcome him back to spin from the formidable height of the Shopkeeper balcony. No doubt he will add his unique, driving, minimal twist to the afternoons events.
Last but by no length least, we welcome newcomers Benoit and Sergio to the roster. Their eerie yet sexy, Paul Simon'esque vocals have been haunting dancefloors worldwide for closing in on a year now, and with their name growing by the day, and their affiliation with stables such as Visionquest and Defected, this will be a very rare treat to see one of the most talked about livesets of 2011 so far.
And then if that wasn't enough, to top off the day, its on to Mint where we'll see it through 'til the bitter end!! So thats one ticket...two events? Sounds like a right deal...
This event was a sell out last year, so please move fast to grab yourself a ticket. Spaces limited to 600 people so don't snooze... 1 ticket includes both venues. Grab your tickets at the following links:
See you on the 1st x
